Baby Slings

Baby Slings are the most simplest form of a baby carrier but they are coming back into popularity and the strongest reason why is the simple design and versatility.

Baby slings are most suitable for younger infants and the positioning of the baby allows for easy breastfeeding. The sling is essentially a cloth which can be tied up in numerous ways, but most commonly it is tied and crossed over one shoulder and the baby is carried in the front.  A great advantage of the baby sling is that when it is not in use, it can be easily folded up and takes very little space so it can be easily packed in your nappy bag or hand bag. Many modern designs of the baby sling now include a ring which can help you modify the sling size and shape.

Another popular variation of the baby sling is the baby pouch which is a tube of fabric that is worn over the shoulder.

The tube structure makes a pouch like shape which the baby lies in. These days baby slings are also designed with extra features like padding and extra support buckles and adjustable straps. Extra fabric pieces allow for more modesty when breastfeeding also. Slings are becoming more versatile too with modern designs and some brands allowing you to carry your older baby or toddler on the back.

Baby slings are not just practical but are now becoming fashionable with a wide range of designer fabric types now available. There is a style and colour to suit every occasion and fabrics include cotton, hemp, denim and silk. With so many colours and patterns to choose from, you will be sure to find one that suits your taste or occasion.
